WHY COME TO PANTELLERIA
Everything you need is here
The Dammuso La Catalana
This lovely dammuso, called La Catalana, is located in Punta Spadillo’s area, five minutes by car from Cala Gadir ( the place famous for its hot springs’natural pools), ten minutes from Cala Tramontana (where you can find the famous Arco dell’Elefante) and not far from the amazing Venus Lake.
The Lake of Venus and the island’s treasures
Pantelleria has immense wealth of biodiversity and historical heritage. Not to be missed, as well as the Lake Mirror of Venus, famous for its mud baths, the evocative archaeological sites: the Acropolis San Marco and Santa Teresa (settlement based Phoenician-Punic and later Roman) to Sesi (buildings megalithic located in the Murcia area and Cimillia).
Cous-cous, Passito and other delights
The island offers an extraordinary gastronomic heritage. Suffice it to say that some products like the Passito di Pantelleria and the Pantelleria Capers IGP are required today throughout the world. It is also advisable to taste a great couscous and a typical dessert, the Bacio Pantesco, consisting of two pieces of fried crisp pastry stuffed in the middle of cottage cheese.
